Former India wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha began his tenure as the head coach of the Bengal under-23 men’s team at the Eden Gardens here on Monday.
At the team’s first training session, Saha stressed on self-belief and team work to take the side forward.
“We as a team must focus on our skills and help fellow team members. There shouldn’t be any individual goal. We just need to believe in ourselves and execute what we have done in training in our matches,” Wriddhiman told the players.
International Utpal Chatterjee and Debabrata Das will assist Saha.
The wicketkeeper-batter represented India in 40 Tests between 2010 and 2021, and also featured in nine T20Is apart from featuring in 170 Indian Premier League (IPL) fixtures for various sides – including Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab Kings, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans.
