Where Is WWE WrestleMania 42 Taking Place? 4 Major Possibilities For A Host City

Back in February, on an episode of SmackDown, The Rock came out and told the New Orleans crowd that WrestleMania 42 was coming back to their city. New Orleans has hosted several WrestleMania events before, so it only made sense that WWE would return to the Superdome again. But then came a shocker, as Wrestlenomics reported on May 22 that New Orleans was now out. In a statement from the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, they said that although they would no longer be the host city for WrestleMania 42, they were working on getting future PLEs. We don’t know what happened just yet, but WWE has less than a year to find a new home for WrestleMania 42. Here are the four most likely options.

“After the success of this year’s event, the new leadership running WWE decided that they would rather hold next year’s event in Las Vegas and see what response they get from fans, according to an industry official who wasn’t authorized to be quoted by name.”

WWE has yet to comment and make the news official.

With WrestleMania 41 in the books, here are some way-too-early predictions for next year’s big event!

WWE Could Go Back To Las Vegas

Las Vegas is hot right now with the sports community. Not only have they landed several professional sports teams, but the rather new state-of-the-art Allegiant Stadium was the host of Super Bowl 58. It also hosted SummerSlam in 2021, one of the first big shows to have fans in the arena’s short history.

Allegiant Stadium was also the home of WrestleMania 41 last month. Say what you will about the quality of the show itself, but WWE packed the place and the event had no issues. Going to Las Vegas two years in a row might not be exciting, but it would be an easy and safe last-minute option guaranteed to go off without a hitch. There’s also the fact that it’s a big spot for tourists and TKO loves holding UFC shows there often.

Will Indianapolis Get Another WrestleMania?

WrestleMania has been held in Indianapolis before, all the way back at WrestleMania 8 in 1992. That event took place at the Hoosier Dome, which no longer exists. The NFL’s Indianapolis Colts now play at Lucas Oil Stadium. Royal Rumble was just held in Indianapolis back in January and was able to draw a huge crowd in another modern setting. But why would WWE go back to Indy already?

Indianapolis is very tempting because the city inked a historic deal with WWE last summer to bring a future Royal Rumble, WrestleMania, and SummerSlam to Lucas Oil Stadium. With one down and two to go, it would make sense to give WrestleMania 42 to Indianapolis now. They proved in January that they are ready and could do it again.

WWE releases a few performers each and every year. We don’t expect to see these wrestlers in the company by the time WrestleMania 42 takes place.

London Wants A WrestleMania

Wembley Stadium Hosted A SummerSlam PPV

Nearly 80,000 fans packed London’s Wembley Stadium for the 1992 SummerSlam. The raucous crowd helped create one of WWE’s greatest moments when the British Bulldog defeated Bret “The Hitman” Hart for the Intercontinental Championship. International fans have been hoping for decades to get a WrestleMania, but with the huge time difference it was impossible. Now that no longer feels like the case.

London wants a WrestleMania so badly that their mayor, Sadiq Khan, has made a public bid for it. Just last July, Triple H and Nick Khan flew to London to meet him. With WWE doing so many international shows now, don’t be surprised if WrestleMania ends up at Wembley. It would mean that the two-day show would need to air during the afternoon for American fans, but that shouldn’t be an issue like it would have been in the past.

Could WrestleMania Take Place In Riyadh, Saudi Arabia?

Royal Rumble 2026 Will Be In Riyadh

Then there’s the option that probably put a pit in your stomach when you heard the news. For years now, WWE has had a working relationship with the Saudi government. They’ve been hosting multiple shows annually, despite the mass criticism WWE has received not only from the media but from its biggest fans. Still, WWE has come a long way from those Saudi shows where women weren’t allowed, and the main events were made up of part-timers. Now a Saudi Arabian PLE comes across like any other important WWE event rather than being some bizarre house show.

Despite this, there was a lot of anger when it was announced that the 2026 Royal Rumble would be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, (this year’s Night of Champions will be there as well), especially after Nick Khan had promised that WWE’s major PLEs would remain in North America. Saudi shows make a lot of people uncomfortable because of their government’s past actions, but WWE has shown that they don’t care about negative opinions. Expect the Saudis to tempt WWE with a lot of money to bring not one but two massive PLEs to their country in 2026.
