Summary
- Paul’s success is due to years of building a brand outside WWE, leading to opportunities.
- Wrestlers are upset with WWE for not allowing them to build brands outside, hindering opportunities.
- Kross believes wrestlers would thrive if they were taught to build brands earlier in their careers.
Karrion Kross has responded to Logan Paul’s video blog ranting that he’s got wrestlers backstage upset with him because he’s being given opportunities that others have worked years to earn. Paul asked, “Who’s watching you?’ when arguing, he’s built a brand over several years. Kross countered with the argument that many of today’s Superstars weren’t allowed to build a brand outside the company, so despite liking Paul and learning from him, Kross asked, “What are we supposed to do?”
Kross Makes A Compelling Counter-Argument to Paul’s Rant
Paul said in his video:
“It’s my understanding that some of my peers are not happy that I get these shots so quickly in my career. Let me break it down for you. “In your simple brains, do you think I’m here because I go viral? You see the numbers and you think that’s why I’m here. No. The reason that I’m here, the reason that I’m given these opportunities so early in my career is a) because I’m fantastic, but b) because I’ve been getting those impressions for a decade now.”
He argued that impressions matter and he’s built his following over years and years of making content. He said, “That’s why I’m here. Because people watch what I do. They care what I do.”
Kross argued that Paul doesn’t get it. Wrestlers aren’t upset with him. They’re upset that WWE didn’t allow performers the opportunities to build a brand outside of WWE. Instead, they spent years being told that each wrestler had to put in their time and learn a certain set of skills. Had they been told that building a personal brand was part of that skill set, “That’s exactly what they would have done.”

Some WWE Superstars might not think he deserves the opportunities he’s been given, but this rising star has a point when responding to critics.
“Now, For Some Of Those People… It’s Too Late”
Kross said that if building a brand was taught in wrestling schools, wrestlers would have knocked it out of the park because they have the strongest and greatest work ethic in the world. “Now, for some of those people, it’s too late,” he says.
“So I ask that person, what are we supposed to do?”
Kross claimed that if someone like Sami Zayn were allowed to build a brand, he’d have been world champion by now. He asked if WWE is just supposed to wipe out an entire group of performers who can’t now catch up to that advantage? Kross says he’s personally trying to do what Paul has done, but not everyone has the time left in their career to build a brand. “I just don’t think he still gets it, and I’m actually shocked he’s rattled in the way he is.”
