India’s wicketkeeper-batter was taken off the field on a stretched during the opening day of the fourth Test against England in Manchester.
Pant attempted a reverse sweep against Chris Woakes. The ball, however, took and inside edge and ricocheted onto his front boot. Pant called the physio on the field for treatment.
However, as the assessment needed more time, the umpires asked him to carry the treatment off the field. He was batting on 37 off 48 deliveries when he was stretchered off. India was parked at 212 for three.
Pant had suffered a finger injury during the third Test at Lord’s while keeping in the first innings. Dhruv Jurel kept wickets for the remaining match and Pant only came out to bat in the remaining match.
