Glenn Maxwell produced a match-winning catch during the first T20I between Australia and South Africa in Darwin on Sunday to dismiss Ryan Rickelton.
Rickelton was batting on 71 with the Proteas needing 21 from five deliveries to get to the target of 179. The southpaw pulled Ben Dwarshuis’ delivery towards long on where Maxwell grabbed the blinder.
He collected the ball, but as he was landing beyond the rope, he flung it back into the air, got back inside the playing field and held onto the ball for a second time.
South Africa eventually fell short by 17 runs and Australia took a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
