Jose Miguel Delgado found himself in a firefight and he walked out with a scorching knockout victory.
A UFC 317 preliminary featherweight bout between Delgado and Hyder Amil had excitement written all over it and neither man disappointed as they came out swinging, much to the delight of the crowd at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The action didn’t last long as Delgado caught Amil with a knee up the middle that immediately dropped him to the canvas.

A dazed Amil protested the stoppage to referee Marc Goddard afterward, but it was clear that Goddard had made the right call. The official time of the KO came just 26 seconds into the opening round.
It was an impressive sophomore effort for Delgado (10-1), who is now 2-0 to start his UFC career. He has won all of his fights by knockout or submission.
On the other side, Amil (12-1) loses for the first time as a pro.
