Seth Rollins is Mr. Money in the Bank, so the question on everyone’s minds is when and where he will cash in. We have an answer, though there are several variables that could get in the way of that happening, especially with his supposed injury which has thrown the main event scene on WWE Monday Night RAW into question.
Rollins is no stranger to cashing in the Money in the Bank contract, doing so previously in the main event of WrestleMania 31. We don’t have anything on the scale of what is, for many, the best cash-in of all time, but we have a pretty good scenario that would benefit the main event scene on Monday Night RAW and add a lot of heat to a big feud.
Seth Rollins’ Knee Injury Might Be A Work
- Seth Rollins was injured at Saturday Night’s Main Event.
- There have been conflicting reports on his injuries.
- Rollins could be pulling a swerve on the audience.
Seth Rollins landed awkwardly on his knee at Saturday Night’s Main Event in a match with LA Knight, rolling to the corner of the ring before being checked on by a doctor and referee. The match was brought to a swift close, and for all intents and purposes, everyone assumed this was a legit, devastating injury. However, reports have emerged to the contrary, suggesting a few different scenarios; one being that Rollins was injured earlier and this was a cover for a less serious injury (so somewhat a work), and another being that the whole thing is work. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is among those claiming that the Rollins injury is not legit, with WWE’s original SummerSlam plans reportedly not factoring Rollins into the picture.

WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event, July 2025: Every Match Ranked & Reviewed
Saturday Night’s Main Event from July 12 is in the history books. Let’s rank and review every match from the final night of Goldberg’s WWE career.
This suggests that Rollins’ injury is a work and an elaborate plan, perhaps to set up one of the more shocking Money in the Bank cash-ins for some time – something we believe needs to happen. Regardless of whether the injury angle occurred or not, SummerSlam was and remains to be the right time for Seth Rollins to cash-in, and here is why.
Seth Rollins Needs To Cash In On CM Punk
- Punk vs. Gunther is happening at SummerSlam.
- Punk should defeat Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship.
- Rollins needs to spoil the party for Punk.
CM Punk is heading into SummerSlam 2025 as the new number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship, earning his first shot at a world title since returning to WWE in 2023. He won a gauntlet match to earn the right to face Gunther at SummerSlam, in what will be their first ever televised meeting and a legit dream match for many fans. Punk, despite his wealth of years and experience, enters the match with a size disadvantage and as the de facto underdog given Gunther’s unstoppable run in WWE.

This Is The Perfect Way For Cody Rhodes To End John Cena’s WWE Championship Reign
If Cody Rhodes is going to get his title back at SummerSlam, there is only way their main event rematch can end.
After a hard-fought contest, CM Punk needs to win the World Heavyweight Championship… only for Seth Rollins to immediately arrive and cash in the Money in the Bank briefcase. Arriving unannounced at SummerSlam and supposedly away with injury will elevate this moment, and it will add so much to the Rollins vs. Punk feud, which has been one of the most personal and heated in WWE. Finally winning a world title in WWE for the first time since losing the WWE Championship to The Rock in 2013, only to have Rollins ruin his moment and steal it, would be heartbreaking for Punk, and it will craft the next chapter of their story in which they battle over a world title.
Seth Rollins Must Be World Heavyweight Champion Soon
- There are so many possibilities for Seth Rollins as world champion.
- Cashing in as soon as SummerSlam needs to happen.
- Rollins needs a title after a huge WrestleMania heel turn.
Seth Rollins is on the back of a headline-making heel turn at WrestleMania 41, aligning with Paul Heyman and building his own faction… but he’s missing something to make him the true top heel in WWE; a world title. Rollins cheating his way to the top will add heat to him as a bad guy and to his rivalry with CM Punk. With two heavies around him, Rollins can play an entertaining and hateable heel world champion in WWE.

SummerSlam’s Main Event Could Feature A Wild Double Turn
If WWE wants to create a moment that every fan will be talking about, then they should do this at the end of SummerSlam’s last match.
Waiting too long (and it arguably has been too long already) will lessen Rollins’ momentum and make him less legit as this proposed number one bad guy. Capitalizing on his turn with an unexpected cash-in at SummerSlam will give Rollins a boost, and it will set him up for a variety of different storylines when defending the gold, with a whole host of enemies lined up, such as Sami Zayn, LA Knight, Penta, CM Punk, Jey Uso, and perhaps even Bron Breakker down the line. Cashing in at SummerSlam gets the ball rolling on all of this, and it makes a great moment in the process.
