The WWE RAW Main Event Scene Is On Fire Again

The men’s main event scene on Monday Night RAW has been up and down over the last year or so, and even as recently as prior to WWE SummerSlam, but things have really started to pick up steam in recent weeks. With many big names involved in the main event picture, such as Seth Rollins, CM Punk, Roman Reigns, LA Knight, and more, things feel red-hot right now. Following SummerSlam 2025, which saw CM Punk defeat Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, only to get cashed in on by Mr. Money in the Bank, Seth Rollins, WWE has continued the momentum from this massive show-closing angle.

RAW’s Main Event Scene Has Become Exciting Again

  • The World Heavyweight Title picture is busy right now.
  • Seth Rollins is a good pick as World Heavyweight Champion.
  • Many top stars are gunning for the red brand’s world title.

On the back of SummerSlam 2025, the World Heavyweight Championship picture has become very wild and busy. Gunther and CM Punk had a pretty well told, steady storyline going into SummerSlam, but in many ways it followed the same pattern as the majority of Gunther’s World Heavyweight Championship feuds. With the likes of Jey Uso and Damian Priest, personal promos and jibes were dished out, with some physicality here and there, but things felt slow, predictable, and similar. With Seth Rollins’ shocking Money in the Bank cash in at SummerSlam, this all changed. Due to Rollins feuding with half of the men’s roster, so much chaos is unraveling on RAW, and it feels very fresh.

Rollins is fending off the likes of CM Punk, Roman Reigns, LA Knight, Jey Uso, and Sami Zayn, with the likes of Penta, Gunther, and others potentially waiting in the wings to get themselves involved at some point too. Given his role as RAW’s number one heel, having Rollins at the center of the World Heavyweight Championship scene is a good choice, especially as he has so many rivalries and storylines to play out, and plenty of different opponents to ensure that the title scene remains hot, new, and unpredictable. Things may not be perfect from a booking standpoint due to no-contest matches on RAW and beatdowns thanks to Rollins’ faction, but there has still been a sense of excitement carried for the last few weeks that has made the main event scene blow SmackDown’s out of the water.

The Main Event World Title Picture Has Interweaving Storylines

  • The main event scene on Raw has become chaotic.
  • Seth Rollins is feuding with countless names, like CM Punk, LA Knight, and Roman Reigns.
  • There are feuds within feuds, and WWE fans love it.

Instead of just singular one-on-one feuds playing out one after another as has been the case for the World Heavyweight Championship, RAW’s main event scene is finally making it seem as though so many wrestlers are dying to get their hands on the title, in addition to having several ongoing storylines taking place at once. The August 11 edition of RAW was a great example of this, as LA Knight and CM Punk both want revenge on Rollins, but have created their own animosity against one another, leading to the two brawling. Jey Uso is seeking redemption after losing the world title, but is also after his own revenge against Rollins’ goons Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. Sami Zayn has set his sights on returning to the world title picture too. On top of this, Roman Reigns is sitting in wait for the opportunity to strike, potentially having trouble with both Rollins and CM Punk when the time comes.

Having so many narratives at once could be deemed a little much, but right now all of it is being handled well on RAW, making the main event scene constantly evolving, not easy to predict, and exciting. Several main event matches on RAW in 2025 have been full of wild brawling, interference, massive pops when music hits, and coming across more like the ultra-exciting version of WWE that existed in previous eras.

WWE’s Main Event Scene On RAW Had Been Inconsistent

Gunther World Heavyweight Champion

  • The World Heavyweight Title has sometimes played second fiddle.
  • WWE’s main event scene has felt disconnected at times.
  • The summer of 2025 has seen a positive change for WWE on Monday Night RAW.

For a while, the world title scene was a division that lacked excitement and consistency. When it comes to the World Heavyweight Championship, the title has sometimes not felt all too important. Gunther’s reign (and then Jey Uso’s reign) was always playing second fiddle to whatever was going on with the likes of Roman Reigns, CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and the other bigger stars on the brand, so there was a sense of things feeling disjointed at the upper echelons of the card.

With all the top names now decisively gunning for the gold, the title immediately feels more prestigious. The title should always be at the center of the men’s division, with any other storylines and feuds being secondary to the biggest prize on the brand. In 2025, there have been some strong changes to this, particularly in the aftermath of SummerSam.
