The Usos Must Reunite As a Tag Team Now

On the September 1 edition of Monday Night RAW in Paris, France, the show closed out with the teased reunion of one of WWE’s most successful and popular tag teams in the history of the company – The Usos. Aside from some small and brief reunions here and there, The Usos have not had a fully-fledged tag team run since 2023 as the two men went their separate ways and tried their hands in the singles division. Fast-forward to 2025, and it feels like it is finally the right time for a tag team reunion for Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso, and there are several reasons as to why.

Jey Uso Has Maximized His Singles Run In WWE

  • Jey Uso has been one of WWE’s most over stars.
  • He won the Royal Rumble and World Heavyweight Championship.
  • It feels as though Jey Uso ran out of direction.

Jey Uso was given a shot in the main event in 2020, rising to the occasion for a pair of thrilling matches with Roman Reigns. Over time, his strong character work in The Bloodline storyline led to him breaking out as a red-hot babyface star, and WWE had no option but to listen to the fans who were giving him major reactions each and every week. This led to an Intercontinental Title reign, several attempts at becoming a world champion, and mixing it up with the biggest stars in WWE, such as Drew McIntyre, Damian Priest, Bron Breakker, Gunther, and more.

In 2025, Jey Uso won the Royal Rumble, shocking the world and going on to beat Gunther at WrestleMania 41 to become the World Heavyweight Champion. His reign was short, though fans were in no hurry to see him win back the title for a second reign. In many ways, Jey was carried by his natural popularity and infectious energy, but as a singles star he sometimes struggled to steal the show in the ring or delve into deep and personal storylines as the years went on. He is still very popular, but with WWE’s main event scene quite busy, there is no clear direction or feud for him right now. In 2025, it feels as though Jey’s singles run has gradually lost steam, meaning that it could well be time for a change and a turn back to the in-ring style that suits him best – tag team wrestling.

Jimmy Uso Has Struggled As A Solo Star

  • Jimmy Uso is not as popular as Jey Uso.
  • He’s been involved in a bland SmackDown Bloodline feud.
  • He is in dire need of an Usos reunion.

Jimmy Uso’s popularity as a singles star feels solely due to the fact that Jey is so over, so his buzz managed to influence fans to cheer Jimmy Uso too. The two went their separate ways in WWE, with one going to RAW and the other to SmackDown, but in the case of Jimmy, he was unable to find his feet. There were a few teases of a United States Championship reign, but this never surfaced, and aside from that, he’s been in a never-ending story with Solo Sikoa.

Jimmy Uso feuded with his brother and the “new Bloodline”, The MFTs. For what has felt like the same segment for weeks and weeks, Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu have each had each other’s back in brawls and matches with Sikoa’s group, with the whole thing becoming very tiresome. It can be concluded that Jimmy’s singles run did not work out, and he failed to make the same sort of impression as Jey. He is lost without his brother, and he needs a reunion to find his feet in WWE once again.

The RAW Tag Team Division Needs The Usos

  • The Usos bring a lot of star power.
  • The RAW tag team division has been one of WWE’s weakest areas.
  • They can help all the teams currently in the division.

The Usos are set to reunite to take on the pairing of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, but their reunion should not stop there, as the RAW tag team division is in dire need of some star power. The SmackDown tag team division has been carrying the blue brand, having consistently strong matches and impressing fans, whereas the RAW division has severely struggled to garner interest or momentum. Jey Uso is at a level now where he will turn heads towards any division he is in, and he could be vital to the boost of the RAW tag team division.

The Usos can elevate The Creeds, The War Raiders, breathe life back into their former rivals in The New Day, and help to make the titles mean more than they do currently. There is always room for Jey Uso to branch back off into singles action again down the line, but they could be very important to saving a weak division. Jimmy and Jey both need something new right now, and joining forces for a stretch will be beneficial to both.
