Stephanie Vaquer Vows to Be Ready for Naomi’s Return

Summary

  • Naomi announced her pregnancy and vacated the Women’s World Title; her Clash in Paris match vs Vaquer was canceled.
  • Vaquer taunted Naomi on X, vowed to beat her in Paris and joked she’ll tell Naomi’s baby they “saved” her.
  • Vaquer won the Evolution Battle Royal to earn the No.1 contendership; Tiffany Stratton is floated as an alternate.

With all the excitement over WWE Superstar Naomi announcing that she’s pregnant, it’s easy to forget that the former WWE Women’s World Champion was going to face Stephanie Vaquer next Sunday, August 31, at Clash in Paris. The one person who didn’t forget was Vaquer, who on Friday took to X to congratulate the expecting mother and, of course, taunt her.

Stephanie Vaquer Will Be Ready When Naomi Comes Back

Vaquer not only told Naomi that she was going to be ready for the former champion when she came back, but she would personally tell the baby that they had helped their mother escape from her clutches. Vaquer was confident that she was going to beat Naomi and win the Women’s World Championship. She wrote:

“I didn’t tell you before because you were surely overwhelmed with emotions, but I want to congratulate you and Jimmy on the future superstar that’s on the way. Someday I’ll tell your baby how they helped you escape from me and prevented ‘Stephanie Velcro’ from winning the title in Paris. Enjoy this new chapter, I know you’re going to be a great mom, Chiquita. I’m already ready for Paris and I’ll be here, waiting for you whenever you decide to come back.”

Naomi, of course, responded to the tweet with confidence that she and the baby could beat Vaquer. She tweeted:

“Velvetta please! Me and my baby gone beat your a– when I get back. I don’t wish you well in Paris hahahhahahaha.”

As noted, it was this past Monday Night RAW when Naomi announced she was expecting her first baby with Jimmy Uso. She had to relinquish the title, which of course canceled Vaquer’s title match for next Sunday.

How Did Stephanie Vaquer Even Earn This Title Shot?

With everything that has been happening, fans might have forgotten how Vaquer even fits in the title picture. She won the Battle Royal at the WWE Evolution PLE, which earned her a number one contendership for the Women’s World Championship at Clash In Paris. Vaquer didn’t call out Naomi until after she successfully retained the Women’s World Title at SummerSlam against IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley.

It’s worth mentioning that Vaquer wasn’t the only star to win big at Evolution. Naomi won the Women’s World Title at the PLE after she cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase during the Rhea Ripley Vs. IYO SKY title match. SKY was the champion then.

She made her WWE debut on the September 24, 2024, episode of WWE NXT and, since then, La Primera has been a force to be reckoned with in the company. Even before her WWE debut, Vaquer was a name that other wrestlers both feared and admired. So it won’t take her long to get back into the title picture. Maybe, instead, Tiffany Stratton should defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Vaquer at Clash in Paris?
