Hulk Hogan’s untimely passing on July 24 is still causing ripple effects in the wrestling community, especially for one of his contemporaries, Ric Flair. At age 71, Hogan passed away from cardiac arrest, and prior to that, he was dealing with complications from neck surgery.

Ric Flair On His Health And Fears
On the latest episode of The Ariel Helwani Show, the WWE Hall of Famer opened up about his own health and the fears that he could be next, though according to Ric Flair, he’s actually feeling pretty good for his age. He said:
“Here I am, I’m five years older than Hulk, and I don’t hurt at all. I’ve had some serious health issues, but I don’t have an ache or pain in my body. And it bothers me and of course it gives me anxiety that I could be next [laughs]. So I’m glad anytime I can talk about how great Hulk is and spend time talking about his life, his legacy with you guys. I’m honored.”

Ric Flair Believes Hulk Hogan Was “Tired”
The Nature Boy later gave his opinion to host Ariel Helwani about Hogan’s body being tired from decades in the wrestling ring and dealing with so many different surgeries. Flair himself had been dealing with skin cancer for a second time, until July 22, when he was officially cancer-free.
“I think he just got tired. I mean, 11 back operations, hip replacements, and now a neck surgery. I mean, how much can your body take, you know? We’ve all put ourselves in ridiculous positions in the business.”
Flair revealed to Helwani that he last saw Hogan two weeks ago via a FaceTime Call. He, like so many, was surprised by the news. Another one of Hogan’s friends, Jimmy Hart, was shocked because, the night before Hogan’s passing, he was told by an assistant that the Hulkster was “doing fine.” Hart had shared the news with Flair too.
