“The Undertaker” Mark Calaway: Age, Height, Wife, Finisher & More
While wrestling fans know about The Undertaker, we shed a light on Mark Calaway, the man behind the legendary WWE gimmick!
Whether he was burying people alive or slamming them into caskets, The Undertaker was supposed to be a darker character, with WWE creating a detailed backstory for him and the other talent involved in his world, like Paul Bearer and Kane. All of that was brought to life by Universal Studios as part of its Halloween Horror Nights offering back in 2000.
The Undertaker’s Halloween Horror Nights House Was Perfect For WWE Fans
- The maze was called The Undertaker: No Mercy
- His maze was part of the Halloween Horror Nights (Hollywood) event in 2000
- This was the only time WWE has had a presence at Halloween Horror Nights
Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights is one of the largest events of the year in the theme park industry, spanning the Halloween period. There are often various mazes for guests to walk through, where characters will pop out and scare them; The Undertaker had an entire house based on him.
The house was very much in kayfabe, starting out at The Undertaker’s childhood home, which has always been a big part of his character. WWE focused heavily on developing the Phenom as a legitimate character, which allowed it to be a perfect intellectual property for Universal Studios to tap into, as there was a lot of backstory and detail that led to a fun maze being created.
It proved to be a perfect experience for horror and WWE fans alike, with this being unique to anything WWE has been involved with over the years. It’s an example of how WWE can use its characters outside of the WWE bubble, which isn’t always something WWE does.
The Undertaker Visited His Own Horror Maze
- The Undertaker was also given an Eyegore Aware for his contributions to horror
- This wasn’t a PG setting, as WWE is today
- Fans got to experience the life of The Undertaker in kayfabe
The Undertaker himself had the opportunity to walk through his maze, which was filmed, allowing fans to see his reactions, even though it was all part of kayfabe. But the video gave audiences an idea of what they could see within the maze as they encountered various versions of the Deadman to reflect his many gimmicks over the years.
Kane and Paul Bearer were also featured as part of the maze, intended to frighten those who walked past. Meanwhile, audiences had to navigate chains dangling from the roof or different body bags, creating an eerie experience for guests.

Will There Be Any Future Crossover Between WWE And Universal Studios?
- The 2025 event starts in late August
- WWE is reportedly set to have a presence at the Orlando, Florida version
- Bray Wyatt is believed to be the subject of the new maze
The Undertaker isn’t the only eerie wrestler who has worked with WWE over the years; therefore, fans of the company and Halloween Horror Nights have often wondered if there might be another maze taking place. People hoping for that might be in luck, as it has been reported that a WWE horror maze is being created for the 2025 event.
According to Fightful Select, WWE has been in talks with Universal Studios about creating another maze and exploring further collaboration. The event has already announced huge intellectual properties such as Fallout and Friday Night Freddy’s for 2025; therefore, WWE would be joining forces with some significant horror franchises.
