Real Madrid score four in Tirol friendly

Real Madrid got up to speed in a friendly in Austria as Kylian Mbappe scored twice in a 4-0 win over Tirol.

Central defender Eder Militao opened the scoring before Mbappe scored either side of half time, showing a lethal touch in front of goal.

Rodrygo – who has been linked with a move away from Madrid all summer – came off the bench to grab a fourth as Xabi Alonso warmed up for the La Liga opener in a week’s time.

Trent Alexander-Arnold started at right-back, while former Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen also impressed – while Jude Bellingham is out after shoulder surgery.

Arda Guler hit the crossbar late on in an impressive display.

Mbappe scored 43 goals in his debut season with Madrid and came close to a hat trick in the 71st minute, when he was played in by Guler, but was denied by the goalkeeper.

The game in Innsbruck is the team’s only official friendly in a two-week, curtailed preseason, ahead of their debut in La Liga against Osasuna on August 19.
