Real Betis have confirmed that they are preparing to launch a fashion line inspired by Antony’s neck tattoo.
The Brazilian winger sealed a permanent €22 million switch from Manchester United on deadline day, committing his future to Betis until June 2030.
Prominently inked across his neck is the word “Iluminado” – translated as “enlightened” – a tattoo that carries special meaning for him.
“This is one of my favourites,” Antony has said about the tattoo. “Because of where I come from and what I’ve been through, I feel enlightened, which is why I have this tattoo, which has a lot of meaning for me.”
Club officials revealed the concept for the line emerged during August’s contract talks. Antony, 25, accepted a reduced salary as part of his deal, but will receive royalties from merchandise sales tied to the project.
“We’ve launched a clothing line with Antony,” said Betis CEO Ramon Alarcon. “We’re participating with him through royalties, and he’ll also have some income outside of sports with that merchandising.”
Fans had already embraced Antony’s “Iluminado” symbol, with many showcasing it during Betis’ Conference League final against Chelsea last season.
Now, supporters can pre-order T-shirts featuring the design for €24.95, while hoodies and additional items are scheduled for release before Christmas.
On the pitch, Antony has rejuvenated his career in Spain. After registering 12 goals in 96 appearances at United, he rediscovered his form on loan at Betis last season and later revealed he had turned down a lucrative approach from Bayern Munich to return permanently.
His arrival has made a significant impact off the field as well. Since his move, Betis have gained more than 205,000 new followers across their digital platforms.
In the first week of September alone, the club sold 1,100 shirts with his name and recorded an 86% jump in engagement alongside a 101.2% increase in video views.
