Fans won’t have to wait until next Sunday to watch some title matches. During this Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, two matches came to fruition — WWE United States Champion Solo Sikoa will defend his title against Sami Zayn, and the WWE Women’s Tag Champions Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will defend their titles against The Secret Hervice.
Sami Zayn Gets His Title Match, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss In Action
On last week’s episode of SmackDown, Zayn shocked fans and announced that he was moving from RAW to SmackDown. He then made it known that he had his eyes set on Solo’s title. If anything, Zayn is a good person to go against anyone from the Bloodline. The match has been confirmed for Leon, France, two days before the Clash in Paris at the La Defense Arena. So if you thought Zayn was going to be in the PLE, it doesn’t look that way.
In this week’s show, Zayn came out to the ring to congratulate Jimmy Uso and Naomi on the announcement of Naomi’s pregnancy when he was interrupted by the MFTs, the other name of the Bloodline stable. Words were exchanged, and Zayn told Sikoa that he wouldn’t be facing an underdog. The last time Zayn held in WWE was the WWE Intercontinental Title and the reign was from April 6, 2024, to August 3, 2024.
Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss have their new opponents, in the form of Piper Niven and Chelsea Green. Last week’s episode saw Bliss defeat Niven, though this week’s episode, Flair wasn’t so lucky. She lost to Niven with the help of Green, interrupting the match. The pair have been the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions since SummerSlam, when they defeated Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez.
A Look At The Clash in Paris Card & More
As of this writing, Clash in Paris has only four confirmed matches. The matches are:
- John Cena Vs. Logan Paul
- Seth Rollins (c) vs. CM Punk, LA Knight, and Jey Uso (Fatal Four-Way Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title)
- Sheamus vs. Rusev (Good Ol’Fashioned Donnybrook Match)
- Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed
Clash in Paris marks the last time that a main roster PLE will be streaming on Peacock. Earlier this week, WWE announced that their first PLE to air on the ESPN DTC service is going to be Wrestlepalooza on September 20. The event is set to take place at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
