The Great American Bash is one of the oldest traditions in professional wrestling. A PLE/PPV so old that it’s only a few months younger than WrestleMania. Starting under the NWA and later becoming a staple of WCW, The Great American Bash is such a big deal that, for a very long time, it was the only WCW event name that Vince McMahon decided to use after buying his competition.
The Great American Bash became a WWE-branded event and appeared regularly in various forms until it was temporarily laid to rest in 2012. As has been the case for a lot of WCW PPV names that were previously laid to rest, WWE revived The Great American Bash for NXT. It has become a staple of the brand since then, taking place every year since 2020. When Is NXT The Great American Bash 2025?
Usually, we have to wait for a SummerSlam or WrestleMania to get a weekend that’s crammed with WWE shows from top to bottom. For some reason, WWE has decided to give us that on a random weekend in July. The Great American Bash will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, with an early start time of 3 pm EST. The show is starting early because the next Saturday Night’s Main Event is taking place later that same day. On top of that, WWE Evolution will air live the following night. A weekend packed with great WWE action, and it starts with The Great American Bash.
Saturday Night’s Main Event will also be going up against AEW All In, which takes place at the same time on Saturday, July 12.
How Can I Watch NXT The Great American Bash 2025?
NXT’s weekly show moved to a new network as a part of the WWE programming shake-up that kicked off 2025. However, if you live in the US, its PLEs can be found and watched live in the same place as always, and that place is Peacock. That’s where you’ll be able to watch The Great American Bash live and on-demand. Fans in the UK and other places where everything WWE streams live on Netflix now will need to tune into the home of Raw to watch along.
Where Is NXT The Great American Bash 2025 Taking Place?
Not only will The Great American Bash be sharing a weekend with Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution, but it will also be sharing a city with the other two WWE PLEs. Like the other two shows, The Great American Bash will emanate from Atlanta, Georgia. The only difference is NXT’s show will take place at the somewhat intimate Center Stage, a venue with a capacity of a little more than 1,000. Despite the smaller venue, tickets are still available at Ticketmaster, but the cheapest available are $184.
Oba Femi vs. Yoshiki Inamura For The NXT Championship
Prediction: Oba Femi Further Cements His Legacy As A Future Top Star In WWE
Oba Femi has been about as dominant an NXT Champion as there ever has been since winning the brand’s richest prize at the turn of the year. So much so that, after defeating challenger after challenger from WWE, the NXT Champion will defend the championship against someone from outside the company at The Great American Bash. WWE striking up working relationships with other promotions means matches like this, which would have been beyond fans’ wildest imaginations as recently as ten years ago, are able to happen. Inamura won’t be the first non-WWE Superstar to become NXT Champion, though. Femi wins and retains in this one.
Jordynne Grace And Blake Monroe vs. Fatal Influence
Prediction: Jordynne Grace Is About To Have The Biggest Weekend Of Her Career
Even though there’s no gold on the line in this one, it’s going to be a big match for a couple of reasons. Most of all, this will be Blake Monroe’s first televised match since signing with NXT. The woman formerly known as Mariah May sent shockwaves through the brand when she showed up in NXT, immediately becoming a threat to Jacy Jayne’s NXT Women’s Title reign upon arrival.
Monroe isn’t next in line for a title shot, though; her Great American Bash tag partner, Jordynne Grace is. Grace will face Jayne for the title the day after this match at Evolution. Not only do I think she’s going to win here with her partner picking up the victory, but I think she’s going to beat Jayne for the title the night after, too.
Sol Ruca vs. Izzi Dame For The NXT Women’s North American Championship
Prediction: Sol Ruca Holds Onto The Title
A surefire way to earn yourself a title shot in WWE is by pinning a champion in a non-title match. That’s exactly why, at The Great American Bash, Izzi Dame will have the opportunity to dethrone Sol Ruca as the Women’s North American Champion. Ruca was taken out by her partner in a tag match, opening the door for Dame to get the cover and pick up a title shot-earning win.
Unfortunately for Dame, a shot at Ruca’s title is as close as she’s going to get to becoming champion, for now. Ruca is another NXT name that feels like she’s in the early stages of a significant WWE ascent, similar to Oba Femi. She’s not ready for a main roster call-up yet, though, so for now, her reign continues.
