The USMNT play for the first time since losing the Gold Cup final 2-1 to Mexico in Houston on July 7 when South Korea visit New Jersey’s Sports Illustrated Stadium on Saturday.

USMNT manager Mauricio Pochettino has called up 10 players with fewer than 10 caps each and 12 players from the run to the Gold Cup final.

Forward Son’s seven-year captaincy of his country is in question according to news agency Yonhap, who say Hong will keep the Tottenham legend as skipper for these games but may reduce his minutes.

Borussia Monchengladbach’s Jens Castrop is initially in reserve after receiving his first call up following the midfielder’s change of allegiance from Germany being approved by Fifa last month.

Feyenoord and former Vancouver Whitecaps midfielder Hwang In-beom is out injured.

South Korea will proceed to meet Mexico in Nashville on Tuesday (21:00 ET / 18:00 PT / 02:00 on Wednesday BST).

Kick-off on Saturday is at 17:00 ET (14:00 PT/ 22:00 BST), with live coverage in the USA available through US broadcaster TNT with English commentary.

Spanish commentary is on Telemundo, with pre-match coverage starting at 16:30 ET.

Via Hulu, TNT subscriptions start at $8.99 a month. Fans can stream the game on HBO MAX with English commentary and Universo and Peacock with Spanish commentary.
