Karrion Kross Reveals WWE Told Him to Ignore Fan Support

Summary

  • Karrion Kross was told not to acknowledge fan reactions by WWE management.
  • Kross was unhappy with WWE’s lack of negotiations regarding his contract.
  • Both Kross and Scarlett accepting bookings indicates they are no longer with WWE.

It seems that Karrion Kross is not holding back about his time in WWE since he confirmed that his contract expired with the company on August 10. In the second part of Kross’ documentary, “The Killer,” he speaks about a lot of things, including what WWE management told him about reacting to fans.

Karrion Kross Told Not To Acknowledge The Fans

In his documentary, Kross alleges that “certain people” told him not to pay attention to the audience because WWE was not ready to “fully embrace” his career. At one of the last WWE PLEs, SummerSlam, the crowd was going wild for the star during the post-show. He said:

“Then when it was still there and it got louder and louder and louder every week, that went away and it was kinda like “Well, we’re not really ready to fully embrace that.” I was being told by certain people, ‘Don’t acknowledge it,” which felt really wrong because having a connection with the audience, especially one that is like this, this doesn’t just come around for everybody. It wasn’t something that was constructed or thought of. This happened organically through a series of events and I wouldn’t even say it’s something that happened recently this year. This is something that is happening because of what has happened over the last three years. I don’t feel like we are all collectively going in the direction that the audience would like us to go in. And that part doesn’t feel good.” (H/T: F4WOnline)

As noted, both Kross and Scarlett announced on Sunday night that they were accepting bookings, which helped further confirm their WWE status. Before that, there was speculation that this was all just a work, but it’s now looking like the couple is quite finished with the company. If it ends up being just a work, it will make Seth Rollins’ fake injury to the World Championship look mild.

The former WWE NXT Champion also shared in his documentary that he was unhappy with how long it took for WWE to even care to talk to him. He had originally wanted to talk to the company in January about re-signing with the company, but it didn’t happen until recently. He said:

“Many months have gone by and we never had a single conversation about it until recently, and I don’t even feel like the conversation I’ve had recently was like an actual serious one,” he recalled. “The conversation made me really angry because I just didn’t feel like it was a real conversation….there really wasn’t anything that was discussed of real substance. Actually, it didn’t make me angry and it didn’t make me upset, it just profoundly disappointed me because I think about this business probably differently than the person I was speaking to because of the nature of what I do.”

As noted, WWE moved both Kross and Scarlett to the alumni page. The duo is also selling new merchandise on Pro Wrestling Tees, which is yet another sign that things are over. If that’s the case, his last match with the company was a loss to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam.
