Since Karrion Kross’ WWE departure, he has given an insight into the behind-the-scenes drama. This backstage drama included lowball contract deals and attempts to suppress fan support. Now it appears that missing out on WWE PLEs is on that list.
Karrion Kross Says He Was Supposed To Be In The 2025 Royal Rumble
While speaking to Denise Salcedo of Instinct Culture, Kross revealed that he was pulled out of the Men’s Royal Rumble at the last minute. Clearly, Kross is one of those wrestlers perfect for a Royal Rumble match. Perhaps he could have taken the spot of YouTuber IShowSpeed or Ludwig Kaiser, since WWE decided to bury him. He said:
“I was supposed to be in the Rumble, they pulled me out of the Rumble last minute. It did feel like my presence was shrinking quite a bit. I took it back. I tried to get involved on social media. Started creating character pieces and fun stuff for people to watch. I tried to make little things I had backstage mean as much as possible. The audience actually forced their hand to use me. It was the audience that called for me to be a bigger part of the show.” (h/t: Fightful)
Kross would return to television in March on WWE Main Event in a match against Akira Tozawa. Before March, Kross had been off WWE TV since the December 9, 2024, episode of Monday Night RAW, where The Final Testament defeated The Miz and The Wyatt Sicks. To say that his second run with WWE was a failure is partly true because WWE never knew what to do with him. As noted, Kross had revealed that his post-SummerSlam plans were supposed to be “big.”
Karrion Kross And Scarlett Are Busier Than Their Time In WWE
It was a week after Kross lost to Sami Zayn at SummerSlam that Kross and Scarlett’s WWE contracts expired. The couple has a pretty packed schedule compared to their time in WWE. Karrion Kross is going back to his old ring name, Killer Kross. He is set to face former MLW Champion Richard Halliday for WrestlePro’s Killer Smokeshow, while Scarlett is returning to the ring for the first time in years. The event is set for September 21.
A few days earlier, on September 19, Kross is set to return to Defy Wrestling. He will be facing Calvin Tankman. The former WWE Superstar is also making his House of Glory debut on October 10. He will be facing another WWE Superstar — Matt Cardona. Cardona has definitely made a name for himself in the indie wrestling scene. So good luck to Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux.
