Well, it was made official, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch will have a match this Sunday, August 31, at Clash in Paris. WWE confirmed that Lynch will be facing WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella. What’s also shocking is that the WWE Intercontinental Women’s Championship is on the line, too.
Becky Lynch Vs. Nikki Bella Set For Clash In Paris
During this past Monday’s episode of WWE RAW, Nikki Bella interrupted the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, calling her a coward, though Lynch hilariously thought she meant another infamous C word. Ultimately, Lynch decided to put her title up at Clash in Paris because she’s “no coward.”
Their feud began on the WWE RAW after SummerSlam. Bella interrupted Lynch, who was gloating, of course. It became a war of words between Becky and Nikki, even going as far as Lynch making a pretty brutal joke about Nikki’s past failed romance with John Cena.
So after weeks of back and forth, fans will see the two in the ring and see if Lynch can back up her words or if Nikki will surprise the wrestling community and capture the title. If that does happen, this will be Nikki’s first title win since November 2014.
The Clash in Paris Card Is Heating Up
Becky Lynch defending the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Nikki Bella is the first women’s match to be added to Clash in Paris since Naomi versus Stephanie Vaquer was canceled. Naomi, before announcing her pregnancy, was slated to defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Vaquer. Vaquer had earned the title shot after winning a Battle Royal match at the WWE Evolution PLE.
What other matches will be happening at the Paris La Défense Arena? Well, Lynch’s husband and current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins, will be defending his title against LA Knight, Jey Uso, and CM Punk. All three men have their own reasons to despise him, but none more other than CM Punk. Punk lost the WWE World Heavyweight Title in a matter of minutes at SummerSlam after defeating Gunther. Rollins had successfully cashed in the Money in the Bank briefcase.
Also, Roman Reigns is finally getting his hands on Bronson Reed, while Sheamus will face Rusev in a Good Ol’Fashioned Donnybrook match. The last confirmed match was John Cena versus Logan Paul. Just one more feud that happened right after the two-night SummerSlam PLE. Another thing that has been swirling around Clash in Paris is that it’s going to be the last WWE main roster PLE to stream on Peacock. The next WWE event, which is Wrestlepalooza, is on September 20 and will be the first PLE to air on ESPN’s new DTC service.
