Seth Rollins celebrated defeating Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel by seemingly teasing a potential match with John Cena before the legendary WWE star retires on December 13th. The World Heavyweight Champion cheated to pick up his first career win over the WWE Champion and became the Crown Jewel Champion.
Seth Rollins Calls Out John Cena?
Triple H put the Crown Jewel Championship belt around Seth Rollins’ waist after his victory over Cody Rhodes in the main event at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. Rollins snatched the microphone from Cathy Kelley to boast about his win and it was during this segment that he seemed to put John Cena on notice.
The Visionary told fans that there is nobody greater than himself and that he was in fact the greatest of all time:
“There is only one man that reaches higher than highest. I am no longer just the greatest of my generation, I’ve proved tonight that I am the greatest of all-time. There’s only one, and he is a Visionary, he is a Revolutionary, he is Seth Fricking Rollins.”
Cena has been labelled the Greatest of All-Time in the latter stages of his career, and it’s not just him saying it. Michael Cole, Wade Barrett and other WWE names have given the 17-time world champion the nickname, and it’s been a popular phrase during his retirement tour.
The 48-year-old has four dates left of his farewell tour before he officially retires at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He’s set to appear at RAW in Boston, Massachusetts on November 10 and in New York on November 17th.
Cena’s final appearance at a PLE comes at Survivor Series in San Diego, California, on November 29th, before his retirement match in December. If he is to collide with Rollins before calling time on his illustrious career, it will have to come at one of those events, although it seems unlikely it will be his final match.
