Naomi is set to defend her Women’s World Championship against number one contender Stephanie Vaquer at the Clash in Paris 2025 premium live event, but after an injury kept her out of the ring on the August 11 edition of Monday Night RAW, and with a lack of focus on the title match itself, questions have been raised over whether she will be able to defend the gold at the show.
In case WWE needs to pivot ahead of Clash in Paris, some alternative matches and routes are needed for the RAW women’s division, with us crafting some more options for those involved in either the world little picture or elsewhere on the card to ensure that WWE’s trip to France still receives a strong women’s bout.
Iyo Sky Vs. Stephanie Vaquer
- Sky and Vaquer can complete their trilogy in WWE.
- They have yet to determine a winner in their matches.
- This would feel like a high-stakes clash.
On both the RAW after WrestleMania 41 and on the July 27 edition of RAW, Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer showcased their very natural chemistry in some enjoyable singles matches. However, both these matches were interrupted in some way, shape, or form, leading to a no-contest result and lack of a winner. They have teased eventually determining who the better woman is, and if Vaquer cannot challenge for a title at Clash in Paris, then this would be a great opponent for her.
Fans will be invested in seeing who finally wins between Sky and Vaquer, meaning that this will have stakes despite no title being involved. To elevate the contest, Vaquer could even offer to put her shot at the Women’s World Title on the line, adding another layer of depth to the matchup. If WWE wants a high-quality in-ring showing, then this is the route to take.
Becky Lynch Vs. Nikki Bella Vs. Stephanie Vaquer
- Nikki Bella has targeted the Intercontinental Title.
- This would still give Stephanie Vaquer a title match at Clash in Paris.
- Vaquer can still focus on the world title after this bout.
Stephanie Vaquer earned a title match for Clash in Paris 2025, so if Naomi is unable to put the title on the line, then Vaquer could briefly enter the Intercontinental Championship picture instead, receiving a promised shot at a prize. The current feud sees Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella set for a showdown after their face-off a couple of weeks ago, but Vaquer involving herself in the match would no doubt improve the quality of it.
This scenario would allow Vaquer to be protected in defeat by having Lynch beat Nikki Bella, and it would also continue adding importance to the midcard women’s division by having another notable name gunning for the gold. Lynch has had some great title defenses against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in recent months, so it will be nice to see different names in the title scene.
Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer, & Iyo Sky Vs. Kabuki Warriors & Bayley
- Asuka and Kairi Sane may turn on Iyo Sky.
- Bayley has teased a heel turn on RAW.
- This would be a fun trios match for a PLE.
Asuka, Kairi Sane, and Bayley have all teased heel turns in recent weeks, so WWE could very well reunite these former Damage CTRL members for a big trios match at Clash in Paris against the team of Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky, and Stephanie Vaquer, all of whom have shown signs of friendship and respect in recent times.
This type of match would allow multiple different stories to continue, and it would ensure that many of WWE’s best in the RAW women’s division get a chance to compete on this French premium live event card.
Rhea Ripley Vs. Iyo Sky
- Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky have existing tension.
- They have delivered great matches on PLEs multiple times.
- A stipulation match could be a nice addition to their story.
Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky have battled on PLE numerous times in 2025, but at WrestleMania 41, Evolution 2025, and SummerSlam 2025, they have delivered time and time again with show-stealing matches. Without a title in the picture, a match at Clash in Paris 2025 between the two could be even more intriguing, this being more about Ripley finally trying to get a win over Sky.
Despite their mutual respect, Sky and Ripley have showcased some tension here and there with Sky reminding Ripley that she’s never beaten her. This could be expanded into more of a feud ahead of Clash in Paris to still give fans a big PLE match.
