A recent report stated that WWE was looking at three young stars to be the next faces of the company. With WWE having so many main eventers now in their 40s, who they pick next to lead the future is very important. Among the names listed to be the handpicked next main eventers were Jacob Fatu and Rhea Ripley, but the one with the most upside might be Bron Breakker. He has had a rocket strapped to his back since debuting in NXT, and although he currently works as a heel, fans love him and are desperate to cheer him on. But just who is the real man behind Bron Breakker?
Many fans know that Breakker comes from a legendary wrestling family, with his father being Rick Steiner, and his uncle Scott Steiner. Bron has the best of both worlds, looking like his dad, but sounding like his uncle. He didn’t grow up as a pro wrestler either, but took to the sport quickly after a college football career. Now, as the master of the spear, he’s on the cusp of taking over WWE.

Oba Femi Vs. Bron Breakker: Who Will Be The Face Of WWE’s Next Generation?
Oba Femi and Bron Breakker have both emerged as hugely promising talents, but only one can be the next face of WWE.
He Was Also A State Champion Amateur Wrestler
- He played both offense and defense during his college football days.
- Bron entered the NFL Draft but wasn’t selected by a team.
- Breakker signed with the Baltimore Ravens but was released before playing for them.
At 6 feet tall and 250 pounds, Bron Breakker looks like a (very tanned) tank. He might not be among the tallest of wrestlers, but his muscles, strength, and speed make him an imposing presence. Breakker got that from his days both as an amateur wrestler and college football player.
In high school, Breakker won Georgia’s Class AAAAA state championship in amateur wrestling. He played football in school too. That became his dream, and at Kennesaw State he was so talented that he played both defense and offense during his career. Bron was good enough to enter the NFL Draft, and although he wasn’t selected, he did sign with the Baltimore Ravens as a fullback. Alas, he was released just a few months later before ever playing a down, but this wasn’t the end for him. He had a heck of a backup plan thanks to his very famous wrestling family.

Scott Steiner’s Son Might Soon Join His Cousin Bron Breakker In WWE
One step closer to a Steiner Bros. 2.0 in WWE.
Bron Breakker Is The Son Of Rick Steiner And Nephew Of Scott Steiner
Why Is Bron Breakker Not Called Bron Steiner?
- The Steiner brothers held tag team gold in WWE and WCW.
- Scott Steiner became a WCW World Champion.
- Bron decided to go his own way in NXT and not use the Steiner name.
Bron Breakker is the son of Rick Steiner. Just one look at Bron and you can see the resemblance, as he has the same build as his dad. Rick Steiner was a tag team legend with his brother, Scott, during their time in both WWE and WCW. Rick may not have become a world champion like Scott did, but he was a very talented wrestler, and who else can say that they once feuded with Chucky from Child’s Play?!
Although WWE doesn’t shy away from his lineage, with Rick having appeared in NXT with his son, and Paul Heyman recently on Raw saying “He’s a Steiner!”, Bron doesn’t go by Bron Steiner (his real name is Bronson Rechsteiner). Fans hated it when he debuted in NXT 2.0 with the silly name of Bron Breakker, but it has worked out for him, and as Bron tells it, it was his idea not to go by Steiner.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Bron said there was a conversation about his name, adding:
“It’s just something I chose, to be Bron Breakker. This is something I wanted. I just kind of wanted to go my own way, because I knew it was like super easy for me to lean into being a Steiner. I just kind of wanted to carve my own path and be my own guy. I show my salutes and respects and stuff to the Steiners and everything with my gear, with my moveset sometimes… I kind of just wanted to go my own way.”

“He Might Just Put His Stuff On” Bron Breakker Could Work With His Famous Family Member
Bron Breakker has a father and uncle in the WWE Hall of Fame, but could he work with either of them?
Bron Breakker Has Already Been A Two-Time Intercontinental Champion
His Spears Are The Best In Professional Wrestling
- He challenged Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship shortly after debuting.
- He was the face of NXT for years.
- Breakker is now in a faction with Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, and Bronson Reed.
Bron Breakker signed with WWE in 2021 at the age of 24. With no previous professional wrestling experience, it should have taken some time for him to pick it up, but instead he quickly moved through the Performance Center and debuted in September. A month later he was already challenging for the NXT Championship against Tommaso Ciampa, where he looked like a talented veteran and not at all like a green rookie. His athleticism was impressive, and WWE noticed, quickly making him the champion and the face of the brand.
It took longer than it should have, but Breakker finally made his main roster debut in 2024. By SummerSlam, he was beating Sami Zayn to become the Intercontinental Champion, and after losing his title, he got it back for another reign. WWE is heavily invested in making Bron a future main eventer star, which can be seen by putting him with Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman. Breakker doesn’t speak often, but he does have the mic skills of his famous uncle when given the chance, and he easily gets fans to bark for him like his dad did, despite being a heel.
Bron Breakker not only has the look and talent, but he has also been blessed with the best spear in the business. Not even Goldberg or Edge can compare with how Breakker pulls off the move, hitting the ropes hard or running around the ring to hit it with such devastation that you wonder how his opponent gets up. When he speared IShowSpeed it looked like the YouTuber had been crushed to death. That’s just the beginning. Look for Bron Breakker to be spearing his way to world championships at WrestleMania main events very soon and for many years to come.
