Federer and Alcaraz Tee It Up at Olympic Club – Tennis Now

San Francisco’s iconic Olympic Club, five-time host of the U.S. Open, welcomed some of the tennis world’s biggest names this week as Roger Federer, Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud, and Alexander Zverev swapped rackets for golf clubs at the iconic club on a typically foggy San Francisco afternoon.

The spotlight was on Alcaraz, who has made golf a key part of his off-court identity. The world No.1 capped his recent U.S. Open triumph in Flushing Meadows with his now-signature golf swing celebration—a move inspired by his love of the sport. It wasn’t uncommon to see Spanish great Sergio García, the 2017 Masters champion, cheering Carlitos on from Alcaraz’s player’s box in New York.

Federer, meanwhile, looked right at home on the fairways. The 2-time major champion has also become quite the enthusiast, and recently enjoyed a round in Spain with Rafael Nadal, another tennis-golf crossover enthusiast, during a visit to Nadal’s academy this summer.

Joining the pair was Ruud, perhaps the ATP’s most committed golfer, who is known to carry his clubs almost as often as his rackets. Zverev rounded out the star-studded foursome, though details of who carded the lowest score remain under wraps—for now.

For now we’ll leave you with a short snippet of the Swiss Maestro’s handy work from the tee box…
