One night after WWE’s Clash In Paris 2025 premium live event which saw Roman Reigns written out of action, Becky Lynch helping Seth Rollins to retain the World Heavyweight Title, and more, WWE were back at La Defense Arena for the September 1 episode of Monday Night RAW, kicking off the road to the revived Wrestlepalooza PLE later on this month. Another red hot crowd made the show feel special, as most European shows tend to do for WWE. There were several standout moments, matches – including one for the Intercontinental Title, popular booking decisions and more from across Monday Night RAW that fans loved and certainly deserve some mention.

Fun Tag Team Action Between Kabuki Warriors & Judgment Day
- This match was the first on RAW in Paris.
- Asuka & Sane picked up a big win.
- This was a very solid tag team match.
The first match on Monday Night RAW this week featured two sets of former WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions as Asuka & Kairi Sane of the Kabuki Warriors took on Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez of The Judgment Day. This proved to be a fun way to kick off the show, with decent back-and-forth action, some great heel work from Perez & Rodriguez, and some strong action from Sane & Asuka.
This was a nice match within the women’s tag team division, which has been improving more and more over 2025. Sane hit a massive elbow drop from the top turnbuckle to the outside, taking out Rodriquez, which allowed Asuka to secure the Asuka Lock onto Perez to pick up a momentum-building win.
The French Crowd Were On Fire All Night For RAW
- WWE’s European audiences always deliver.
- WWE’s trip to France gave three entertaining crowds.
- The crowd made RAW feel like a much bigger event.
Much like SmackDown in Lyon and the Clash In Paris premium live event, the French crowd made it three in a row for great atmospheres. The massive La Defense Arena was packed for this show, giving it a very unique feeling to other episodes of Monday Night RAW.
The audience elevated every match – making throwaway bouts such as Finn Balor vs. Dragon Lee feel as though they were high stakes. The audience were hot for the likes of AJ Styles, Jey Uso, CM Punk, and others across the night.
Dominik Mysterio Escapes As Intercontinental Champion
- The Paris audience was wild for AJ Styles.
- Mysterio vs. Styles was a solid title match.
- Mysterio defended the title with some help from El Grande Americano.
The audience prior to AJ Styles’ Intercontinental Championship challenge was enough to make this worth mentioning. Styles has been a favorite in France ever since Backlash 2024, and the crowd in Paris greeted him with a five-minute long serenade that lasted all throughout the commercial break.
AJ Styles and Dominik Mysterio proceeded to have a decent and fun match for the gold, going head-to-head in front of the wild fans who rallied behind Styles. They showcased decent chemistry, more than they did at SummerSlam last month, but things ended with El Grande Americano once again helping Mysterio, attacking Styles whilst his back was turned. This allowed Mysterio to once again escape and continue his reign as champion.
CM Punk & Becky Lynch Go To War On The Mic
- Punk and Lynch went face to face.
- Lynch put her hands on Punk.
- This was a solid segment to keep the feud hot.
CM Punk called out Seth Rollins on Monday Night RAW, but he was instead met by Becky Lynch – the woman who cost him the World Heavyweight Championship at Clash In Paris 2025. They traded insults, they each tried to outdo one another, and gradually became more and more personal as the segment progressed. Rollins came out to briefly mock Punk before heading to the back.
Afterwards, Lynch stepped into Punk’s space and began slapping him, poking him, and chopping him, all the while goading him into “doing something about it”. Punk told Lynch that she’d regret putting her hands on him – perhaps hinting at a return for AJ Lee. Lynch mocked Punk as he walked to the back, looking fuming in the process. This segment made it feel as though these two absolutely hated one another, what with cutting each other off, Lynch acting out in disgust at having to even touch Punk, and more. This was a great way to add tension to this storyline.
