ENG vs IND: Stokes becomes 4th England player to score century and pick five-wicket haul in same match

Ben Stokes on Saturday struck his 14th Test century against India during the fourth Test in Manchester to join an elusive list of England players.

The England captain became the fourth all-rounder from the country to score a century and pick a five-wicket haul in the same match. Tony Greig, Ian Botham and Gus Atkinson are the other players to achieve the feat. Only Botham has achieved this feat more than once (5).

Stokes had claimed a fifer (5/72) during the first innings of the match, his first in seven years. He followed it up with a century in the second innings. Stokes also completed 7,000 Test runs during the innings.

He had to retire hurt during the innings on the third day after suffering from a hamstring pull. However, he returned to the crease later in the day and carried England through to a massive score.
