ENG vs IND: How many times has India won by 1 wicket in Tests?

India is looking to secure a stunning one-wicket victory in the Third Test at Lord’s in the current Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against England.

If it able to secure victory, India will win by a margin of one wicket for just the second time in its history. The only other time it has done so was in the First Test of the 2010 Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Mohali.

Chasing 216, VVS Laxman and Pragyan Ojha combined for 11-run stand in 20 balls after a 81-run stand in 131 balls between Laxman and Ishant Sharma set the tone for an unlikely scenario.

Laxman remained unbeaten on 73 off 79 balls after coming in at number seven and needed the help of a runner in Suresh Raina to help him rotate strike.

Pragyan and Ishant had also combined to pick five wickets in Australia’s second innings to restrict them to 192, setting India a target of 216.
