ENG vs IND, 1st Test: England announces Playing XI; Ollie Pope retains No. 3 spot


England announced its playing XI on Wednesday for the first Test against India, starting in Leeds on Friday.

Top-order batter Ollie Pope held onto his No. 3 spot after a hundred against Zimbabwe last month.

Shoaib Bashir is the lone spinner in the English team. England’s seam attack will be helmed by the experienced Chris Woakes, who will be backed by Brydon Carse, Josh Tongue and skipper Ben Stokes.
