Dhruv Jurel was named captain of Central Zone for the upcoming Duleep Trophy 2025-26, according to news reports.
The wicketkeeper-batter, who was part of the Indian team for the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Though, he did not feature in the Ranji Trophy last season, Jurel impressed with his performances during India A’s tour to England.
Indian Premier League winning-captain Rajat Patidar of Madhya Pradesh was also included in the squad, subject to fitness clearance by the Centre of Excellence.
Notably, left-arm unorthodox Kuldeep Yadav was included in the 15-member team. However, Karun Nair, who put up 863 runs for Vidarbha last season, which got him the much-awaited India call-up, was left out.
Earlier today, Shubman Gill was named as the captain for North Zone.
