Punjab named a 16-member squad for the All India Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament 2025, which will be hosted by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) from August 18 to September 9 in Chennai.
Anmolpreet Singh will lead the team, which includes notable players such as Prabhsimrah Singh and Ramandeep Singh. As many as 16 teams will take part in the competition, including two from Tamil Nadu.
The 16 teams will be divided into four groups of four each. Each team will play the other three in its group once.
The league stage games will be played over three days. The first innings of each team will comprise 90 overs, while the second innings will comprise 45 overs each. The knockout matches will be four-day contests, with each innings being 90 overs per side.
The winner of each group will advance to the semifinal.
Punjab, which is featuring in the tournament after a gap of 13 years, is placed in Group D, along with Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad and Jharkhand.
