WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan passed away on July 24 at the age of 71 from a heart attack. Since his tragic passing, his daughter, Brooke Hogan, has opened up about her rocky relationship with her father. The two haven’t talked since 2023 due to a mix, as noted in her original statement, of emotional toll and private disagreements. Brooke shocked listeners on Tuesday when she phoned up the Bubba the Love Sponge Show to discuss why she wanted to be removed from her father’s will.
Brooke Was Afraid Of Scientology
In an interesting turn of events, Brooke revealed that it was Hogan’s third wife, Sky Daily’s former religion, that played a factor in Brooke stepping away from the drama involving money and wills. From what Brooke explained, she was afraid that Daily would possibly lawyer up, and in her mind, the “powerful” Scientology would back Daily.
“Money didn’t matter. “I was like, ‘Take me off everything.’ And I was sobbing, I was sobbing when I wrote the text to Terry McCoy — the guy that manages his money — I was sobbing and I just said, ‘Take me off everything, I just — I don’t want to be a part of it.’ Because I knew, in my mind, this is how the math was going to work out. If Sky is a Scientologist, which apparently she’s still in good standing but she says she left. It’s not for me to judge. She was always nice to me. I have no problem with Sky. But if she was a Scientologist, I know that that’s a very powerful backing.” (H/T: F4WOnline)
Brooke later added that her mother, Hogan’s first wife, Linda, was another factor in her wanting out of the will. She didn’t want to fight with her mother over money. Brooke is also estranged from Linda. She said:
“And then I thought, oh my God, if I get left any money or [her brother] Nick gets left any money, no offense, but my mom has been known to kind of find herself in the mix with things like that. And I’m like, I don’t want to fight Linda. I don’t want to fight Scientology. I don’t want somebody that I love to get knocked off. I don’t know how deep this stuff goes. It scared me. And I just said, ‘I want out.’”
Brooke Will Still Get Some Money
According to F4WOnline, Brooke will still receive money from a small life insurance trust, which she is going to use towards her kids’ college funds. Brooke married former NHL player Steven Oleksy in 2022. Brooke gave birth to twins in January 2025. The pregnancy was marred by medical issues, including a “complicated and scary” C-section.
As noted in her statement about Hogan’s passing, Brooke did share how it was her husband who kept communication open just in case father and daughter were to reconcile. Brooke did call out WWE for reportedly not inviting her to any of her father’s tributes. Her brother Nick was notably at the Monday Night RAW tribute and was in the crowd for both nights of SummerSlam.
