After this weekend’s WWE SummerSlam PLE, everyone has their opinions about the company — some positive and, of course, some negative. One moment that involved some scrutiny was how WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H reacted to fans chanting Karrion Kross’ name during the SummerSlam post-show. As previously reported, while fans were chanting “We Want Kross,” Triple H misinterpreted the chants as for Brock, and he replied that they “got Brock.” Kross reacted to the misstep by tweeting on X. Former WWE Superstar Braun Strowman replied to the tweet, and he didn’t hold back his feelings.
Braun Strowman Calls Out Nepotism
Strowman replied to Kross’ post that WWE basically didn’t care about fans and accused the company of “nepotism.” Strowman left out names, but one might wonder if he is talking about the surprise return of Brock Lesnar? Strowman was released from WWE this past May due to financial budget cuts. It was his second run with the company. He wrote:
“You know they don’t care about the fans!!!!! They care about nepotism a– kisser’s and there buddies!!!!”
Adding after a fan joked about his reaction:
“No feelings here. Facts!!!!”
Since Kross lost to Sami Zayn during the first night of SummerSlam, there is a fan theory that he’s done with the company. Saturday’s loss marked the third consecutive loss to Zayn. If his replies say anything, it seems that Strowman, whose real name is Adam Scherr, feels Kross’ pain.
Looking Back At Braun Strowman’s Last WWE Run
Braun Strowman was rehired in 2022 (just like Karrion Kross) after being released in June 2021. His second run was marred by a string of injuries, including a torn groin. He also underwent neck surgery.
Right before the news of his release, Strowman’s last match was on the April 18, 2025, edition of Friday Night SmackDown. There, he teamed with LA Knight and defeated Jacob Fatu and Solo Sikoa. The week prior, on SmackDown, he was part of the United States #1 Contendership Match, and earlier in the year, he was one of the entrants in the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match. His second run didn’t include any title reigns, unlike the first.
Other highlights include his odd-couple tag team with former WWE Superstar Ricochet, and on-and-off again feuds with the Bloodline and the Judgment Day. It makes one wonder what could have been if Strowman had been healthier — would he still be with the company today, or would backstage politics say otherwise?
