Trekkies and WWE fans rejoice, because it appears that Becky Lynch isn’t finished with the Star Trek universe. The WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion revealed, while speaking to Cody Rhodes on his podcast, What Do You Wanna Talk About, that she’s pretty positive she’ll be in the second season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
What Did Becky Lynch Say About The Sci-Fi Series?
Even though season one has yet to premiere on Paramount+, while speaking with Cody, The Man mentioned her return and that filming for season two will start soon. She also spoke about working with Hollywood actors Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti. She said:
“It was great. I loved it. I believe I’m coming back for the second season, which I think they’re going to be filming soon. It was an incredible experience. You’re going through 12-14 hour days and I didn’t want to leave. I loved every second of it because you’re around all these great minds. Great director, producer, writers, and actors. News about Lynch joining the cast was first announced back in December 2024. All that is known about her role is that she’s part of the bridge crew. The first season of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy is slated to be released in early 2026. Shockingly, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy was renewed for a second season in October 2024, while the first season was still in production.
The plot of the series follows a young group of cadets who discover what it really takes to become Starfleet officers, all the while still navigating their personal lives — rivalries, first loves, past traumas, etc. The cadets must also contend with an enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation.
Becky Lynch’s Other Hollywood Roles
This role in Star Trek: Fleet Academy is not Lynch’s first taste of Hollywood. The 38-year-old starred in the third season of the NBC series, Young Rock, as singer Cyndi Lauper.
Back in May 2020, Becky made an appearance on the season five premiere of Showtime’s Billions. Recently, Lynch starred in Adam Sandler’s new comedy, Happy Gilmore 2, as the cocky and brash Irish golfer Flex.
The star has done voice work. She was the voice of the character Axehammer in the animated film Rumble. Also, she and WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley voiced characters in an episode of the Nickelodeon animated series Wylde Pak. Time will only tell what comes next for Big Time Becks in Hollywood, but for now, she’s in Space: the final frontier.
