AUS-W A vs IND-W A, Unofficial Test, Day 3: Raghvi Bist, Shafali Verma fifties put India Women in strong position

Raghvi Bist narrowly missed out on a century for the second time in the match, but her 86 helped India A take a 254-run lead in the second innings on the third day of the unofficial Test at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane.

After Australia A took a narrow six-run first-innings lead, thanks to Sianna Ginger’s century (103), Shafali Verma (52, 58b, 4×4, 4×6) and Nandini Kashyap laid a strong foundation for India A with a 42-run opening stand. However, barring Bist, who had scored 93 in the first innings, the middle-order batters couldn’t convert their starts.

Dhara Gujjar (20), Tejal Hasabnis (39), and Tanusree Sarkar (25) helped in nudging the total beyond the 200-run mark. A collapse followed thereafter, as India A lost four wickets for 41 runs, going from 208 for four to 249 for eight, with Bist falling towards the close.

Amy Edgar was the pick of Australia A’s bowlers with figures of 4/53.
