Asia Cup 2025 will get underway on Tuesday with Afghanistan taking on Hong Kong in the tournament opener at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
India will open its campaign against the host United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 10. The eight-team tournament will have its final in Dubai on September 28.

Highest individual score

Virat Kohli holds the record for the highest individual score in T20 Asia Cups, with an unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in the 2022 edition in Dubai. Only one other batter has reached three figures in the tournament’s T20 format — Hong Kong’s Babar Hayat, who scored 122 against Oman in 2016.
Best bowling figures
Bhuvneshwar is also the only bowler to take a fifer in the tournament history.

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 5 for 4 against Afghanistan in 2022 remains the best bowling performance in a T20 Asia Cup match. He is also the only bowler to have taken a five-wicket haul in the tournament’s history.

India is the only team to breach the 200-run mark in an Asia Cup T20 game.
The Men in Blue achieved the feat during the 2022 game against Afghanistan, when they accumulated 212/2.
Lowest team score

Hong Kong registered the lowest total in the tournament history, when it was bowled out for 38 by Pakistan in 2022.
None of the Hong Kong batters managed a double-digit score as Pakistan sealed a massive 155-run win.
Lowest total defended
The record for the lowest total defended in a Asia Cup T20 game belongs to Sri Lanka.
In 2016, Sri Lanka defended 129, against UAE in Mirpur, winning the game by 14 runs.
Most catches in a match (not as a wicketkeeper)
Hong Kong’s Babar holds this record, thanks to the four catches he grabbed in a 2016 match against Afghanistan in Mirpur.
