NEW YORK—Carlos Alcaraz looms large in the Manhattan skyline.
A striking Nike billboard of Alcaraz in full Swoosh great greets visitors to New York City during this US Open.

World No. 2 Alcaraz looms largest among tennis earners.
For the second straight year, Alcaraz leads Forbes’ list as the highest-paid tennis player for 2025.
Reigning Wimbledon champion Alcaraz earned an estimated $48.3 million over the past year, before taxes and management fees. That’s a $6 million raise from the $42.3 million Alcaraz earned in 2024, according to Forbes.
The five-time champion edges out rival Jannik Sinner in total 2025 earnings.
World No. 1 Sinner has earned an estimated $47.3 million over the last 12 months—a $20 million increase over the $26.6 million the Italian superstar earned in 2024. Sinner won a tennis-record $6 million champion’s check for capturing the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Saudi Arabia last fall.
Reigning Roland Garros champion Coco Gauff is the world’s highest-paid female athlete in all sports. Gauff made $37.2 million over the past 12 months—with $25 million coming from off the court earnings from her endorsement deals with New Balance, Head and Rolex among others.
World No. 3 Gauff is the third-highest tennis player overall, surpassing Grand Slam king Novak Djokovic, who is fourth on Forbes’ list with $29.6 million in total earnings over the past 12 months.
The 38-year-old Serbian superstar is the only player on Forbes’ Top 10 list who is older than age 29.
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka rounds out the Top 5 on Forbes’ highest-paid list raking in $27.4 million, including $15 million in off court earnings. That makes Sabalenka the second-highest paid female athlete in the world after Gauff, who beat the Belarusian in the French Open final.
Three of the world’s Top 10 elite earners in tennis are American: Coco Gauff, Taylor Fritz ($15.6 million) and Frances Tiafoe ($15.2 million).
Two stars on the list—Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek—served brief suspensions in the last year, yet still made the Top 10 with six-time major champion Swiatek collecting $24 million over the last 12 months.
Forbes reports: “Combined, the world’s 10 highest-paid tennis players made an estimated $285 million over the past 12 months, a 16% increase from last year’s total of $246 million.”
